Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) is available in for Lynx 1.7. By default, SSPR functionality is disabled.
SSPR Settings

Log into the Lynx administrator tool.

On the left-hand side, expand the Settings tab -> End Point -> Dell ThinOS.

Select the target device where you will create your Device Profile or update an existing one.

If there is no profile, create a new one by clicking New Profile in the top-right. For existing profile(s), click Edit next to the profile you want to add SSPR to.

A pop-up window will appear. Select the SSPR option on the left.

When you are done editing or setting your SSPR configuration, click the Save button at the bottom.

Setting Descriptions

| Is SSPR enabled? | Enables the self‑service password reset (SSPR) feature. Set this option to Yes if you want users to reset their passwords through SSPR. |
| Are users required to register with SSPR? | Controls whether SSPR registration is Required or Optional, and defines how often users are prompted. Registration is required before next sign‑on: No grace period; users must register immediately. Registration is required after a grace period: Two user‑defined settings determine how many times a user may decline registration and how much time passes between prompts. After the maximum declines, registration is forced at next sign‑on. Registration is optional: Two user‑defined settings determine the number of prompts and the time between them. After the maximum declines, users are no longer prompted and are not forced to register. |
| How many security questions will a user be required to answer when registering with SSPR? | Defines the total number of security questions a user must answer during SSPR registration. Questions and encrypted answers are stored in the Lynx database. |
