Article summary

QwickAccess for IGEL version 1.3.0 provides users with fast and secure access to their Citrix session or Citrix-hosted Epic Hyperdrive* session with the tap of a badge* on an IGEL endpoint device. This can be the same badge that is used for building access or identification purposes. QwickAccess for IGEL is designed to eliminate the tedious redundancy of manually entering a username and password to gain access to a Citrix session or Citrix-hosted Epic Hyperdrive session.

QwickAccess for IGEL version 1.3.0 supports two different modes: Unique Session Mode and Shared Session Mode.

When QwickAccess for IGEL is configured for Unique Session Mode, the solution offers the ability for users to quickly and efficiently access their own unique Citrix session by simply tapping their badge. To secure their work, the user taps their badge again. Users can also move between endpoints and have their Citrix session follow them (roam with them).

When QwickAccess for IGEL is configured for Shared Session Mode, users share a single Citrix session. Users can securely tap-in and tap-out of Epic Hyperdrive* which runs in that single Citrix session.

In both modes, in addition to tap-in, QwickAccess for IGEL supports tap-out, and tap-over, making it easy for multiple users to securely use the same IGEL endpoint. And in both modes QwickAccess for IGEL supports self-service badge enrollment which allows a user to enroll their own badge without needing to see an administrator or visit a special enrollment station.

QwickAccess for IGEL does not provide single sign-on (SSO) capabilities. However, Identity Automation does offer an advanced enterprise SSO solution called ExactAccess.

* Badge or other RFID device

This uses the word “badge”, meaning an RFID-enabled identification badge that is assigned to a user, because that is what most organizations will employ. However, QwickAccess for IGEL also supports other RFID proximity devices such as key fobs, wristbands, and cards.

* Epic Hyperdrive

Epic Hyperdrive is an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) app offered by Epic Systems.
