Overview

The QwickAccess for IGEL solution has a client-server architecture. The QwickAccess client application is deployed to IGEL endpoints via IGEL UMS and interacts with an RFID reader attached to a USB port on the IGEL endpoint. The QwickAccess client application uses the ProxAuth services of the ExactAccess Server which is part of the ExactAccess Product Suite 1 to securely store and retrieve proximity card information, and to validate user credentials. Finally, the QwickAccess client application interfaces with the locally installed Citrix Workspace app on the IGEL endpoint to launch and secure remote Citrix sessions.

QwickAccess for IGEL Application

QwickAccess for IGEL is deployed to IGEL endpoint systems by an administrator via the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS). The QwickAccess for IGEL app is installed on IGEL endpoints as a Custom Partition.

An RFID reader is plugged into an available USB port on the IGEL endpoint system to allow the user to quickly and securely access their work by simply tapping their badge on the reader.

ExactAccess ProxAuth Server

The QwickAccess for IGEL application stores and retrieves badge information from the ExactAccess  Server for proximity card authentication. In order to complete this task, the QwickAccess for IGEL app securely communicates with the ExactAccess Server which is part of the ExactAccess Product Suite 1. The ExactAccess Server uses Microsoft SQL Server to store badges id’s and associated user credentials, and leverages Microsoft Active Directory to validate user credentials and verify account status. Because of this, users use the same account credentials with QwickAccess for IGEL that they currently use with Citrix.

Note:

The ExactAccess ProxAuth Server is included with QwickAccess for IGEL for proximity card authentication only. ExactAccess is the Enterprise Single Sign-On (ESSO) solution offered by Identity Automation and is licensed separately. Customers that require the full features provided by the ExactAccess Product Suite must also license ExactAccess for each of the endpoints they require that functionality for.

All QwickAccess solutions are licensed independent of each other. Customers with multiple endpoint technologies must license the appropriate number of each QwickAccess products required for each.

Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops/DaaS and Citrix Workspace App

QwickAccess for IGEL uses the locally installed Citrix Workspace app on IGEL to launch and sign on to Citrix sessions. QwickAccess for IGEL does this without requiring changes to your organization’s existing Citrix infrastructure.

IGEL Universal Management Server (UMS)

The IGEL Universal Management Server (UMS) allows administrators to manage IGEL endpoint devices via the IGEL UMS Console app. IGEL endpoints communicate with UMS to receive settings and other information. QwickAccess for IGEL is deployed to IGEL endpoints as a Custom Partition.

IGEL UMS Console Application

The IGEL UMS Console application is typically installed on an administrator's desktop system. It is utilized to manage the endpoints connected to the IGEL UMS. Changes made in the IGEL UMS Console application are communicated to the IGEL UMS, which, in turn, communicates the changes to the IGEL endpoint system.
