Solution Requirements

Supported Operating Systems

• Windows 10 (x64 only)
• Windows 11 (x64 only)

Prerequisites

Client-side

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 installed on the QwickAccess to Windows endpoints. This typically comes pre-installed on Windows 10 and 11.
• QwickAccess to Windows endpoints must be joined to the domain that contains the users that will be using the solution.
• Approximately 20 MB of free hard disk space
• A supported proximity badge reader (see below)

Server-side

• Lynx Server software, version 2.0 or higher. The machine on which Lynx Server software is installed must be joined to the domain that contains the users that will be using QwickAccess to Windows. Please see the Lynx Server software documentation for further Lynx Server requirements.

Supported Proximity Badge Readers

QwickAccess to Windows only supports RFIDeas readers such as WaveID Solo or WaveID Plus readers. The form factor of the reader doesn’t matter, but the reader will need a USB connector (not virtual COM) that is compatible with your Windows endpoint. Also, since QwickAccess to Windows doesn’t use the optional keystroking feature of a reader, we suggest buying readers without the keystroking feature because they may be less expensive.

Following are a list of readers that are known to work with QwickAccess for Windows and also cover a very large number of badge technologies. This list is not exhaustive, however.
