    ExactAccess 4.14.4

    Installation Prerequisites

    Before installing XA 4.14.4 on a client system, please ensure that the following requirements are met:

    Clean (First-time) Install

    1. Download .NET Framework 4.8.1 Web Installer
    2.  Download .NET 8.0 Runtime (v8.0.7) - Windows x64 Installer
    3.  Download .NET 8.0 Runtime (v8.0.7) - Windows x86 Installer
    4.  Download .NET 8.0 Desktop Runtime (v8.0.7) - Windows x64 Installer
    5.  Download .NET 8.0 Desktop Runtime (v8.0.7) - Windows x86 Installer
    6.  Download ASP.NET Core 8.0 Runtime (v8.0.7) - Windows x64 Installer
    7.  Download ASP.NET Core 8.0 Runtime (v8.0.7) - Windows x86 Installer

    Upgrade from 4.14.1 and newly (in addition to Clean Install requirements)

    1. Download .NET 6.0 Runtime (v6.0.8) - Windows x64 Installer
    2. Download .NET 6.0 Runtime (v6.0.8) - Windows x86 Installer
    3. Download .NET 6.0 Desktop Runtime (v6.0.8) - Windows x64 Installer

    Upgrade from 4.14.0 and older (in addition to Clean Install requirements)

    3. Download ASP.NET Core 3.1 Runtime (v3.1.9) - Windows x64 Installer

    IMPORTANT

    Database Update Requirement for XA Server 4.14.4 Upgrade

    When upgrading to XA Server 4.14.4 from version 4.14.3 or any earlier version, a database update is required. Please execute the following scripts against the current ExactAccess server database:

    • C:\Program Files (x86)\HealthCast\ExactAccess\SQL\MSSQL\xa\Migration\Update_04_14_04.SQL
    • C:\Program Files (x86)\HealthCast\ExactAccess\SQL\MSSQL\prox\Update_04_14_04.SQL

    These scripts apply the necessary schema and data updates to support the new version.

    Features added in this release

    HEALTH-1188

    Introduced a user-friendly UI in XA Administrator to efficiently configure, manage, and assign shared credentials.

    Issues Fixed in this Release

    HEALTH-1393

    Fixed a security issue allowing badge ID changes in the ProxCard database to gain unauthorized access by implementing HMAC hash binding for badge validation.

    HEALTH-639

    Fixed an issue where the XA Kiosk Mode autolock beep did not consistently play at the configured interval, despite correct autologoff.exe logging behavior.

    HEALTH-1174

    Fixed an issue where pubLauncherSF.exe sessions were not using unique client IDs, causing Citrix startup problems, now each machine provides a unique identifier to ensure proper session handling.

    HEALTH-1189

    Fixed an issue where ViewConnect Connector login failed if the user’s password contained a single or double quote.

    HEALTH-1392

    Fixed an issue where manifest.json files for Chrome and Firefox were not removed from the installation directory after uninstalling the XA Client.

    HEALTH-1449

    Fixed an issue where roles were incorrectly assigned across unrelated parent and child control items in the Org map, causing unintended access.

    HEALTH-1450

    Fixed an issue where removing a role from a control item wrongly removed that role from shared child items, causing unexpected loss of access.

    HEALTH-1488

    Fixed an issue where the XA Toolbar grew taller after each lock/unlock on high-DPI Windows 11 monitors, reducing desktop space.

    HEALTH-1522

    Fixed an Access Denied error in RemoteAuth Server caused by an uninitialized domain pointer, restoring proper initialization before calling the LogonUser API.

    HEALTH-1523

    Fixed Remote Kiosk Mode issues where badge scanning settings and queue handling in HCITFAProxAPI.dll did not work correctly, affecting narrator/trauma workflows.

    HEALTH-1135

    Fixed a login hand issue where users in OUs with slashes in the name caused XA to stall at loading applications and generate errors.

    Backward Compatibility

    • XA 4.14.4 server backwards compatible with versions of XA Client 4.12.x, 4.13.x, and 4.14.x; some newer functionality may be limited.
    • XA 4.14.4 client is backwards compatible with versions of XA Server 4.12.x, 4.13.x, and 4.14.x; some newer functionality may be limited.

    Upgrade from the following versions to 4.14.4 is supported

    • 4.14.3
    • 4.14.2
    • 4.14.1
