# System and Software Requirements

## Operating System

- Windows 11 (x64 only)
- Windows 10 (x64 only)

## System Requirements

- Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8
  - Note: This typically comes pre-installed on Windows 10 and 11.
- Domain-joined that contains the users that will be using the solution.
- Approximately 20 MB of free hard disk space
- A supported proximity badge reader ([see below](/v1/docs/qaw-system-software-requirements#supported-proximity-badge-readers))

#### Lynx Server

If using the Lynx server, you must use QAW version 2.0 or higher. Please see the [Lynx Product Overview](/v1/docs/lynx-product-overview) for further information.

## Supported Proximity Badge Readers

QAW only supports [RFIDeas](https://rfideas.com) readers such as the [WaveID Solo](https://www.rfideas.com/products/readers/single-frequency/wave-id-solo) or [WaveID Plus](https://www.rfideas.com/products/readers/dual-frequency/wave-id-plus) readers. The form factor of the reader doesn’t matter, but the reader will need a USB connector (not virtual COM) that is compatible with your Windows endpoint.

QAW does not use the optional keystroking feature of a reader. We recommend buying readers without the keystroking feature as they may be less expensive.

The following is a list of readers that are known to work with QAW. This list is not exhaustive, however.

- RFIDeas WaveID Solo: RDR-8082-AKU
- RFIDeas WaveID Plus: RDR-80582-AKU
