XA Server Event Log Error: XADATALAYER.CLSUSERS.GetUserRoles Error:Access Denied

PROBLEM/NEED

This (or similar) error messages are seen in the Windows Event Log:

Failure: "XADATALAYER.CLSUSERS.GetUserRoles Error:Access Denied - Not Authorized for Access" Error Number: "800A0046"

ROOT CAUSE

This error is recorded when a user badges in successfully but is not an XA User. A user can use a registered badge to login to Windows (XA SUM) or to login through the XA KM Privacy Shield and still not be an XA user. This is not a problem unless the user is supposed  to be an XA User.

RESOLUTION

Ensure user is a member of an XA-enabled Active Directory security group.
