# Database Key Backup and Import

The following steps will walk you through exporting and importing the XA server's database keys.

## Export Keys

1. Open the **HCI Server Configuration**.
2. In the **ProxCard** tab, click the right button next to **Database Encryption Class**. The encryption algorithm can be left as "AES192". ![image.png](https://cdn.document360.io/f2567005-8048-43b2-8bfc-3abc2da42bca/Images/Documentation/image%28475%29.png)

4. You will be prompted to create a password. Enter a password for the encrypted file.

          Important

          

Save your password somewhere secure. It will be required to import the key.

Repeat these steps for the **eXactACCESS** tab and key.

## Import Keys

2. In the File Explorer, locate your exported key and open it.

Repeat these steps for the **eXactACCESS** tab and key.
