Article summary

This article lists and describes all of the supported settings for QwickAccess for IGEL (QAX-IGEL) version 1.3.0. However, not all settings will apply to your situation and many of the settings can be left at their default values. The table below indicates the Variable name and Value for each supported setting. The Variable name and Value fields can be found in the QwickAccess for IGEL - Version 1.3.0 profile under System > Firmware Customization > Environment Variables > Predefined and > Additional.

Variable name

Valid Values

Default Value

Description

ProxServerHost

FQDN

YOUR-SERVER-NAME-HERE

The value of this variable should be the FQDN of the server on which ExactAccess ProxCard Server service is running.

ProxServerPort

number

30001

The value of this variable should be the port number on which the ExactAccess ProxCard Server service is listening on the server as specified by the ProxServerHost value.

AuthServerHost

FQDN

YOUR-SERVER-NAME-HERE

The value of this variable should be the FQDN of the server on which the ExactAccess Remote Authentication service is running.

AuthServerPort

number

20001

The value of this variable should be the port number on which the ExactAccess ProxCard Server service is listening on the server as specified by the ProxServerHost value.

WindowsDomainCount

number

1

This value should be the number of Windows domains that you will use with QAX-IGEL.

WindowsDomain0

Domain Name

YOUR-DOMAIN-HERE

This value should be the the name of the Windows domain that contains the users that will use the QwickAccess for IGEL solution. If you need to use more than one domain name, see Basic Settings.

StartWithoutProxReaderEnabled

true, false

true

When set to true, QAX-IGEL will start and run without an RFID reader plugged into the endpoint. If set to false, QAX-IGEL will start then shutdown if there is not a RFID reader plugged into the endpoint.

PrivacyScreenEnabled

true, false

true

When set to true, QAX-IGEL will show its Privacy Screen when a user taps out. The Privacy Screen covers the entire screen and prevents anyone from seeing the users work. When set to false, QAX-IGEL will log the user off when the user taps out.

LogonButtonEnabled

true, false

true

When set to true, QAX-IGEL will show a “log on without a badge” button on the “TAP YOUR BADGE” screen. This button allows a user to log on with just their username and password. When set to false, the button is not available and users must use their badge to login; they can’t log in with username and password.

LockTimerEnabled

true, false

true

When this value is true, the lock timer is enabled. When this value is false the lock timer is disabled. The value of this setting is only considered when the value of PrivacyScreenEnabled is true. If PrivacyScreenEnabled is true and LockTimerEnabled is false, then QAX-IGEL will not show its Privacy Screen automatically as a result of user inactivity (not moving the mouse or pressing keys). Instead, QAX-IGEL will only lock when a user taps out.

LockTimerTotalSeconds

a number ≥ 60 and ≤ 28800 (8 hours)

300

This value determines the number of seconds that a user can be inactive (not moving the mouse or pressing keys) before QAX-IGEL automatically displays its Privacy Screen. This value only takes effect when the value of LockTimerEnabled is true and PrivacyScreenEnabled is true. Otherwise, it is ignored.

LogoffTimerEnabled

true, false

true

When this value is true, the log off timer is enabled. When this value is false the log off timer is disabled.

LogoffTimerTotalSeconds

a number ≥ 60 and ≤ 86400 (24 hours)

3600

MainScreenEnabled

true, false

true

When set to true, QAX-IGEL will display the “Main” screen, which is the screen that is displayed when no one is logged in and is the screen which displays the message, “TAP YOUR BADGE”.

QuitKeyEnabled

true, false

true

When set to true, QAX-IGEL will shutdown when the quit key (Alt-Q) is pressed while the “TAP YOUR BADGE” screen or the Privacy Screen are showing.

RunAtUserLogonEnabled

true, false

true

This setting determines whether or not QAX-IGEL will automatically start and run when the system is started. If this value is false, QAX-IGEL will briefly start and then shut itself down when the system is started. In this case, a user would need to manually start it after the system starts up.

PrivacyScreenInfoOption

IN_USE, USER_NAME, USER_PRINCIPAL_NAME, SAM_ACCOUNT_NAME, NOTHING

USER_NAME

When the Privacy Screen is displayed, the value of this setting determines what, if any, information is displayed on it. The following describes the information that will be displayed for each option.

Option

What’s displayed

IN_USE

“In Use”

USER_NAME

The username of the current user, e.g., “SSMITH”

USER_PRINCIPAL_NAME

The UPN of the current user, e.g., “SSMITH@DEMO”

SAM_ACCOUNT_NAME

The SAM account name of the current user, e.g., “DEMO\SSMITH”

NOTHING

Nothing is displayed.

RemoteKioskModeEnabled

true, false

false

The value of this setting determines if QAX-IGEL is in Shared Session Mode (SSM) or Unique Session Mode (USM). If the value is true, then QAX-IGEL will run in SSM, or USM if false.

DisableOnBeforeLock

true, false

false

This setting answers the question, “Should Epic Hyperdrive follow the state of QAX-IGEL?” The value of RemoteKioskModeEnabled must be true for this setting to take effect.

Value

Result

true

Epic should NOT follow the state of QAX-IGEL: When QAX-IGEL locks, Epic will remain in the current state. However, when QAX-IGEL logs off, Epic will secure or log off (depending on the value of the SecureActive setting).

false

Epic should follow the state of QAX-IGEL: When QAX-IGEL locks or logs off, Epic will secure or logoff (depending on the value of the SecureActive setting).

SecureActive

true, false

false

This setting answers the question, “Should Epic secure or should it logoff in the case where it is trying to follow the state of QAX-IGEL?”
This setting depends on the value of DisableOnBeforeLock.

The value of RemoteKioskModeEnabled must be true for this setting to take effect.

Value

Result

true

When QAX-IGEL locks or logs off, Epic will secure.

false

When QAX-IGEL locks or logs off, Epic will log off.

EnableOnBeforeLockTimeout

true, false

false

This setting answers the question, “If Epic is trying to follow the state of QAX-IGEL (because DisableOnBeforeLock = true), and QAX-IGEL happens to lock because of user inactivity, then what should Epic do?

This setting has no effect when DisableOnBeforeLock = TRUE

The value of RemoteKioskModeEnabled must be true for this setting to take effect.

Value

Result

true

When QAX-IGEL locks because of user inactivity, then Epic stays in the current state (SecureActive setting is ignored).

false

When QAX-IGEL locks because of user inactivity, then Epic will do what it normally does as determined by the SecureActive setting.

LogoffOnEpicSecureLogout

true, false

false

This setting answers the question, “Should QAX follow the state of Epic?”

The value of RemoteKioskModeEnabled must be true for this setting to take effect.

Value

Result

true

QAX-IGEL will follow the state of Epic: if Epic is secured, then QAX-IGEL will lock; if Epic is logged off then QAX-IGEL will logout.

false

QAX-IGEL doesn't follow the state of Epic: if Epic is secured, QAX-IGEL will remain unlocked; if Epic is logged off then QAX-IGEL will not log off.
